This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of the sea, oceans and water for KS1. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint and pencil, using shapes, patterns and lines and experimenting with different materials.
There are 3 different artists used as inspiration, all of whom have painted the sea or water using very different techniques. The children have the opportunity to work alone for 4 lessons and part of a collaborative group project for the final lesson. They have lots of opportunity to choose what materials they work with.
The 15 page pdf lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my classes. I have included the simple 7 slide PowerPoint I used for the series of lessons, which contains examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based.

A plan and resources for a KS1 Easter RE lesson on Easter Sunday, with a focus on new beginnings.
The 6 page PDF lesson plan includes details of a group starter, an introduction to the story, an outdoor activity, a simple written and art activity and a plenary. There are also differentiated targets, curriculum links and details about assessment for learning methods.

This resource is a plan with all accompanying resources for teaching a lesson about Jesus calming the storm. It is aimed at 5-7 year olds and is highly interactive.
Included in the plan are lesson objectives, cross-curricular links and details of activities. The activities in this lesson include a drama starter, short written task, art activity and plenary. All resources are included, with a PowerPoint version of the story attached. All you need to bring is some wallpaper for the art activity.

Jesus’ Miracles Story Presentations
This resource is a set of 3 art lessons based around the theme of harvest for Key Stage 1. Children create three pictures based on Van Gogh’s series of wheatfield paintings. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint, pastel and pencil and experimenting with shapes and patterns.
The lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my class. I have included the PowerPoints I used for the series of lessons, which contains information about the artist, examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based and information about how bread is made. Also included are templates for the children to use.

I created this unit of work to use with my year 1 class for a harvest art project. I was so impressed with the outcome and the children’s work made a fantastic display. I hope you enjoy the lessons! They are great fun!
This resource is a set of 4 lessons designed to teach painting skills to Lower Key Stage 2, though it could be used for KS1 too. The key skills that are taught include mixing colours to create secondary colours, creating different tones and shades and using shapes and patterns to change the tone of a painting.
There are 3 different artists used as inspiration - Mondrian, who uses blocks of colour, Monet, who uses lots of tones and shades and Rembrandt, whose painting of Jesus calming the storm is used to inspire the children’s final pieces of work. The children have the opportunity to work alone and as part of a large group to create a collaborative piece of art on gigantic wallpaper. This was great fun! I have included the powerpoint I used for the series of lessons. There are 3 slides on the first two artists and a slide with Rembrandt’s picture.
I have used these plans on several occasions so they are tried and tested!

This resource is a set of 5 Art lessons based around the theme of India for KS1.
The key skills that are taught include collaborative art skills, simple sculpture and using paint and other materials to create pictures and crafts.
The children work together creating a city skyline, before moving on to making elephants, diva lamps, rangoli patterns and fireworks pictures during the unit. The plans are very detailed and include templates, simple powerpoints and website links. There are details of curriculum links and lists of any art resources you will need to set out before the class starts. I have also included photos of the completed art projects from when I used this plan with my year 1 class.
These plans are tried and tested with my own class. We had fantastic fun! I hope you do too!
This is a set of three lesson plans to teach children about the fun Jewish holiday of Purim. It is suitable for ages 4-7. The plans are very detailed (9 pages plus resources). These lessons could be taught at any time of the year.
Lesson 1 contains a brief overview of Judaism and Purim. Lesson 2 focuses on the story of brave Queen Esther. Lesson 3 teaches the children about how Jewish people celebrate Purim.
Each lesson starts with a carpet session. The children then split into five groups for activities. These include drawing, storytelling, dressing up and crafts. Across the three lessons the children have the opportunity to do all of the activities. The plans could be combined into one lesson with the children only doing one or two activities. There are three differentiated levels of objectives. There is an optional 18 slide PowerPoint to accompany the lessons which tells the story of Queen Esther and how Jewish people celebrate Purim.
